THE IMPORTANCE OF THE 6’E’S

little bit of life coaching for the weekIMG_2850

My dear friends, comrades, acquaintances, sweethearts hi, I am back yes the Indian aunty is back yes I had a creative spell of poetry now I decided to take the bull by it’s horns and write about the important 6 E’s in life.

No I am not talking about the results of my trigonometry exam but these E’s can make your life and shape your life for the better.

We often want what our friends and neighbours have, or we feel the grass is greener on the other side, yes the grass is greener especially in Northern Ireland we have fifty shades of green and India not wanting to be left out has fifty shades of brown every person in India has their own shade of brown from dusky, to wheatish to homely to milky white but we are all Indian thank God for our cosmopolitan, democratic, colourful India .

Now fifty shades of grey the less said about it the better , yes from colourful creation, to a colourful nation to wicked sense of sexual intonation, but as Christians we are not here to judge but pray for those who have had sexual addiction, it is like cannabis, to porn, to alcohol addiction yes I purchased this book out of curiosity but I could not finish it this world is going from bad to worse but there are people who are praying that the right people come in power in politics, Christianity, luminaty and Rome, including those who are powerful business men with good ethics to govern this world, Doctors, Scientists, religious leaders, this world needs you.

While there are people who pray in their homes for change there are those who have power to change the world for better this world does not just need sheep but it needs the GOOD WOLFS who help the sheep to make the world a better place.

Now back to the 6 E’s to a better you

1.Extraordinary, why Extraordinary because the ordinary is mundane and you have the potential to be extra-ordinary you yes you , you have gifts, talents or just hardworking once you move from the sphere of ordinary to extra-ordinary your life will be wonderful you will get noticed and opportunities will knock on your door be extra-ordinary

2.Enthusiastuc be enthusiastic about life don’t be boring spice up your life a bit, listen to good upbeat music, learn the guitar, learn a new subject do not get boring but enjoy life, learn to love life and be positive most of the time negativity and pessimism will get you no where.

3.Excellence, Be excellent be above average what ever your strengths or talents are develop them, make them stand out of the crowd be hardworking and be a man or woman of excellence, when I was younger I never felt beautiful or attractive one day I told my dad” I want to be beautiful “my father looked into my eyes and said “you are unique and you are very talented “it was then I accepted that I may never be a beauty queen or victoria secret model but I can sing, write and cook and be a blessing though my spelling and grammar is not great I am unique and talented and as the song we used to sing as children say “ If I were a butterfly, I thank you Lord for giving me wings, you gave me a heart and you gave me a smile you made me Jesus and you made me your child and I just thank you for making me, me,, I am 5 feet 2 but I am now a happy 5feet 2 inch lady.( who never goes out without heels or make up)

4,Entertaining, be cheerful and be happy there was once a pastor named A, who was preaching for a very long time each Sunday, then one day his wife whispered in his year and held out a big card that said KISS the pastor very quickly finished the service and sat down, his friend an elder of the church said “hey bro why did you finish and look said when your wife held out the card that said KISS “he said “dear elder if you only know what it means it means KEEP IT SHORT STUPID”

so keep your life, your work and your free time entertaining so there is not much time for boredom

5.Energetic, always be on your guard and alert and keep exercising, have a bright happy disposition, so people get attracted to you, if it is your cute smile or your strong arms or even your sense of humour be energetic, lethargy gets you no where be bright and happy like the song “all things bright and beautiful all creatures great and small all things wise and wonderful the lord God made them all.”

6.Engaging be attentive, hear people’s stories, help people be a blessing to people, be there when they need you and always remember people who have helped you and because of that you are able to help others never ever forget those who helped you be engaging above all be gratefulIMG_3006

Remember the 6 E’s

“A party without cake is just a meeting”

Julia Child

Dear Friends, Theologians, and munchkins lend me some of your time, today I have come to the conclusion that a piece of cake with a cuppa as they call it in the land down there I mean Australia, cake and cuppa go hand in hand, such as goodness and mercy, such as love and friendship, such as black and white.

My dearest friends, munchkins, this year I had one motive that is to conquer the art of baking, in India where I was born baking was not that popular but as you know spices, curries, breads such as nan, chapattis and dosai’s made from rice flour go a long way to many hundreds of years.

But now coming back to baking cakes I had a fear that my cakes may not be great and that fear worked on my baking but as a wonderful Christian friend and sister in Christ in Church had a class on baking cup cakes my fear seemed to have subsided and my daughter and I had great fun baking cup cakes I know they are not the best cup cakes but my daughter and I had fun making icing and sprinkles

What I learnt was we have to face our fears sometimes when we fear the worst the worst usually happens, but when we change fear to love and positive energies God steps in takes away our fear and changes bad circumstance to the best, why because we did not let fear govern our lives

My grandmother told me something the other day she said ”My father feared getting a bad name that he never enjoyed life” How true is that we fear what Mr and Mrs Jones next door will talk about, or fear our parents or even fear God that life can not be enjoyed as long as we are true to ourselves and true to GOD who has given us life, health and strength why have fear, even the bible says God has not given us a spirit of fear but of love power and a sound mind.

You do not need to walk on eggshells walk on the carpet put for your life, it may not be a red carpet but a simple rug but man what a rug if you have a wonderful hug from someone who loves you and is there for you, sometimes that someone may be your child, your spouse or even God just reading his word listening to music and talking to HIM can take away your fears, today my friends overcome fear or fear will overcome you.

Tell yourself I will not be afraid, my God is with me and there is no fear in love, perfect love takes away fear,

Let love rule your hearts, takeaway hate and fear and you will have love

Lots of love

Theology With A Piece Of Cake

  • photo-18
  • My dearest friends I would like to wish each and everyone of my readers Happy New Year, This year I decided one of my New Year resolutions was to bake more as I love cooking, I decided to learn to bake like an Indo-British lady. This is my first cake for the year, it still needs a more professional look but thank God my family liked it.
  • In Genesis when Lord God created the earth, flora and fauna he took a break on the Sabbath day, I wonder and hypothetically speaking if God went for a walk had a black coffee and some fruit, sitting on a rock sipping his coffee and thinking about not just about creation but eschatologically looking into the future, we all know God is omnipotent and all powerful, omniscient and all knowing and omnipresent and present everywhere,
  • Did the lord God weigh the pros and cons of creating mankind, when we bake cake we weigh the eggs, flour, butter and sugar, was creating the earth like baking a cake, the colours of the earth, trees and also seas, did he imagine the end product with his fingers crossed and eyes shut praying let it all go well yet in the future he saw the most perfect world, but the process of that perfect world was time, as mankind was going through the baking process and still we are in God’s celestial oven, when the perfect Lord God Jesus comes again this imperfect world will disappear the perfect will appear, we are going for a universal celestial ride before we enter the perfect world the Lord God has prepared for imperfect people like you and me, when the time comes this new world will be way past our imagination, when I baked this cake there was shifting of flour, weighing the ingredients and when the cake came out of the oven it was still not finished, it still needed the icing of imagination and tender loving care that only the lord God can give us, there will be no more sorrow or crying in the new world as we await this new life let us just be like a yellow sunflower basking in the sunshine of God’s word and presence with a piece of cake and coffee, or whatever you like to eat not just the word of God to nourish our spirit man but also food to nourish our physical bodies.
  • God Bless

Our Lord The Boaz Our Redeemer

images

When life goes on and the adversity too hard to handle

Think of the Lord our Boaz the kinsman redeemer who bought us our troubled mind heart and soul with a sandal, how can I this great gift o f God ever handle, like the drummer boy in Bethlehem who had nothing but himself as a gift, I too dear lord accept my heart, mind , body and soul, from your awesome love let me never drift.,

I am nothing but you chose me for a purpose, this Christmas as the drum beats as the bells ring as I sing, let your love through me ring, and light people’s lives with love, and sweetness like hot chocolate and a warm blanket in front of a fire reading your word, thinking is life like a game on the board but you let the warmth of your light and the sweetness of music make us delight,

Oh come all ye faithful we belt out with might, how do we our adversities fight, all you say is love them and forgive them which we can’t do with our might but he our Boaz, our redeemer, our great benefactor, here am I take me as I am, I have nothing but my heart to give through your love and graciousness let me live, my dearest lord all I have to you I give, my Boaz my friend my redeemer you are my savior, my deliverer without you my life will be in shambles if you can take nothing and make it into something here am I your nothing let your will your plan, your way please pave the way,

I from you will never stray my life my love my redeemer, my handsome lord and savior here am I my lord take me as to you all I give for your purpose alone let me live and when all is done one day as I sit by your feet please give me a smile and say well done as to you alone I live the greatest gift for me is knowing you, loving you and serving you,

Please make me new like the dew on a yellow rose, that outshines any prose, the gift from God from death you arose to you I make a toast, long life , good health and blessings, so now this Christmas all I can say is Cheers my king,

As o holy night I sing, let your love and peace to northern Ireland bring, yes the tears sting but love is greater and the force of the creator that can make nothing into matter, let peace prevail as a woman in labor travail but when the baby is born the joy is even greater,

Lord when you were born they laid you in heather in the stables, let us learn to conform to your word and rebel against cynicism, bigotry and misunderstanding, but the key is your word to all knowledge and understanding thank you now and forever our wondrous handsome king and savior, our creator our great leader who rules forever amenimages-2

A hypothetical discussion between a Messianic Jew and a Pentecostal Irish Belfast Bible College graduate regarding their views on the Old and New testaments of the Bible

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning” John 1:1,2

Before time ever existed one thing existed and that was the Word. Jesus was the Word made flesh and dwelt among us. Before time existed Jesus existed therefore logically speaking the Word made flesh which is Jesus existed before time existed.

The play unfolds:-

There are two very important people I would like to introduce to you. One is Methuselah middle aged with salt and pepper hair, a big moustache and a bigger tummy with five children four girls and one boy and a wife named Hannah. Names of children are Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Abigail and a son named Isaac. Methuselah has recently come to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour and so has his family they are Messianic Jews who have come to Northern Ireland on holiday.

My next friend is Paul, who likes to think of himself as apostle Paul because of the prophesies he has received from his Pentecostal brothers and sisters from the Elim Pentecostal Church. He is six feet tall, blue/grey eyes with glasses, very thin and scanty blond hair. He is in his late thirty’s. Paul is single and has a Bachelor’s degree in theology from Belfast Bible College. He is hoping to go to Israel as a missionary. Paul met Methuselah in Jerusalem when he went there on holiday and is hoping to get to know Sarah as a prospective bride. Paul and Methuselah have arranged to meet for coffee at Star bucks.

Their conversation begins :-

Meths:- Shalom Paul ( gives Paul a warm hug)

Paul:- Praise the Lord brother and stretches out his hand to shake hands but is overwhelmed by Methuselah’s big hug.

Meths:- How are you Paul? When are you planning on coming to Israel, the land flowing with milk and honey as Psalms 48:1,2 says “ Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. In the city of our God. In His holy mountain beautiful elevation. The joy of the whole earth is mount Zion on the sides of the North. The city of the great King.”

Paul:- Can’t imagine why God would send Jesus to that wee little land to fulfil his purpose in all the earth. He could have come to Northern Ireland ya know it is so green and welcoming, ya know man I am not patriotic but why the Middle East?

Meths:- Laughs out loud Oye ,Oye ,Oye, now you want to turn Jesus Irish. Jesus was born in a manger in Bethlehem in that wee little land of Israel, through Him all the nations of the earth will be blessed as it says in Luke 2:30-32 “ For mine eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared before all the peoples. A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles and the glory to your people Israel.”

Paul:-Jesus is all that matters, once we have Jesus who came to save the world from sin and sickness and we thankfully, glory to God, do not need the law. As Martin Luther says (Ahem clears his throat and puts on his most important look) We are saved by grace and not by the law.

(Just then a beautiful blond waitress comes up to take their order, Paul adjusts his glasses and stares at the waitress unable to speak.) So Methuselah gives the orders of two cappuccinos. Paul keeps staring at the waitress till she goes back.

Meths:-Paul you might as well hang a sign around your neck that says ’single and looking intently’. Now coming back to what you said about the law, A.G. Herbert in his book ‘The Authority of the Old Testament says “ it is never said that the Mosaic law is now seen not to have been the law of God at all, on the contrary it is God’s law and it is holy and righteous and good. It is never said that the prophets are right and the law wrong, nor is the moral law endorsed and the ceremonial law repudiated, on the contrary Jesus has come not to destroy but to fulfil both the law and the prophets.”

Paul:- That’s good, Aha, Jesus never came to die for our sins in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament they had sacrifices ,the Mosaic law and of course the prophets. But I says I like the apostles filled with the Holy Spirit doing signs and wonders in Jesus’ name.

Meths:- ( shakes his head) My dear boy let me take you through a journey back to the time of prophets and prophesies and how the Holy Spirit worked in the Old Testament. The prophets filled with the Holy Spirit played a very significant role in the life of the Jewish people and therefore in our lives as well. As I said earlier Jesus is the fulfilment of the Law that was prophetic. Now let me take you to I Samuel 16:13 ( Methuselah takes out his Bible from his brown brief case) ‘Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward.’ How did David kill the Lion and the bear 1 Samuel 17:49 ? The answer is simple dear boy because the Holy Spirit was on David. In the Old Testament the Holy Spirit was not a free gift to all people only a chosen few were filled with the Holy Spirit and they were the Prophets, Priests, and Kings. The moment Samuel anointed David with oil, David had a change in perspective from David the Shepherd boy to David the King. Now lets go to your favourite part of scripture Luke 3:22 ” And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon him and a voice from Heaven which said “ You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased”. From that significant moment in Jesus’ life, Jesus had the ability to work miracles and now this is my point dear boy, which portion of scripture did Jesus read at the synagogue in Nazareth after being endowed with power from on high? He read Isaiah 61:1,2 and if the Old Testament was just the Law and Jesus just came to give us amazing grace why would He read Isaiah 61:1,2 ? A prophecy concerning Himself. Now lets go to Zechariah 9:9 “Rejoice greatly O daughter of Zion, Shout daughter of Jerusalem, See your King comes to you righteous and having salvation gentle and riding on a donkey on a colt, The foal of a donkey.” This prophecy was fulfilled in Matthew 21:7,8 where Jesus sat on the donkey as He approached Jerusalem and the crowds lay their cloaks before Him on the road and Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on the donkey just as the law had foretold. Jesus fulfilled the law and the law was prophetic. Therefore dear son you cannot have the new without the old. Like two sides of a coin ( as Methuselah flicks a coin in the air and catches it)

Paul:- Sips his cappuccino, looks at the young couple who have just entered Star bucks and gives a gives a big sigh. He pauses for a moment, takes a big gulp of cappuccino and chokes as it is really hot, he gulps a mouthful of cold water wipes his eyes, puts his glasses back on and continues. According to J P Fokkelman in his book Reading Biblical Narrative

“ The narrative art of the New Testament can be found in the four gospels and the Acts of the Apostles. These books have been written in the Greek of the Hellenistic world of the first century. All of them move around two land marks, Firstly the person of Jesus Christ and secondly the group of texts that for Jesus, His disciples and the writers of the gospels and the letters constitute the Holy scriptures, The Hebrew Bible. Paradoxically, we can only speak of the Old Testament after a New Testament has been written and recognised as a canon.

Meths:- Dear boy, what are you trying to prove? We had the law first Exodus 20 :1-17, the prophesies, example Isaiah 61:1-3 and Isaiah 53. The Old Testament foreshadowed the New. The Old Testament was the foundation on which the New Testament was built. The New Testament is a prophetic fulfilment of the Old Testament. Jesus is the Word made flesh who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins to fulfil the law and the prophets. Now coming back to a more personal level, You remember the time Rebecca was sick with typhoid I just prayed the Psalms with tears especially Psalm 42. ‘Tears have been my food’ when we did not have enough food in the house for our children to eat but by praying and fasting ( not optionally) God took us through that time when we were in Russia and brought us to the promised land of Jerusalem. Those prayers from the Old Testament worked and now we are here in Northern Ireland on holiday drinking Cappuccino.

Paul:- Takes of his glasses and wipes the tears from his eyes and blows his nose loudly on the Star Bucks serviette. Well Methuselah, it is great having you in Noren Ireian…. I agree with you dear brother that we need the Old Testament to have the New Testament,

Let us pray, Paul clears his throat and prays with the loud voice that people turn around and stare “ Dear God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Thank you for the privilege of knowing Yahweh, Emmanuel God with us and at the same time have the sweet communion with the Holy Spirit. He then pauses and says God give me a wife soon, with a hint to Methuselah, adds someone from the Holy land he again pauses and says in the words of the song by Keith Christianson “ We believe in the Father, who created all that is and we believe the universe and all there is is His. As a loving heavenly Father, He yearned to save us all to lift us from the fall we believe. We believe in Jesus the Father’s only son existing before time had begun a sacrifice for sin, He died and rose again to ransom sinful men we believe. We believe in the Spirit who makes believers one, our hearts are filled with His presence the Comforter has come. The kingdom unfolds in His plan, unhindered by quarrels of man His church upheld by his hand we believe. Though the earth be removed and time be no more these truths are secure, God’s word shall endure whatever may change these things are sure we believe. So if the mountains are cast down into the plains when Kingdoms all crumble this one remains, Our faith is not subject to seasons of man with our fathers we proclaim. We believe our Lord will come as He said, The land and the sea will give up their dead His children will reign with Him as their head, we believe, we believe.

Amen
