Sam and Joe (Joan)

Image

Joan was a healthy child, she loved playing in the park with the boys and girls from the neighbourhood, she was five years old with dark short hair falling all over her face and could play football better than any of the boys in her neighbourhood. Her best friend was Sam a red haired green eyed boy who loved her from the time she moved to the house next door in their neighbourhood, when she was three years old. Sam was a year older gangly with freckles but Joan loved him, she did not have any brothers or sisters so Sam was her best mate. One day when Joan was eight years old, as she and Sam where in school, her grandfather came to school in a very sober face and spoke to her teacher, her teacher trying to remain calm and hiding her tears asked Joan to go home with her grand father. For the first time in Joan’s life she was scared and frightened, she did not know what was wrong everything was alright when she left home.

She clung to her grand father’s hand and asked him what was wrong and he said Joe we have to talk and there outside the school he told her, her mother was dead. Joan could feel the earth moving under her feet, she burst out crying, life would never be the same again, in those few moments of driving home from school she could see a flash back of her mum beautiful with dark hair singing to her, making supper and her favourite baking together and putting her to bed.Joan’s dad came running to her and gave her a hug and sweetheart everything is going to be alright, she could hear her mind saying alright what do you mean alright ? That evening was the funeral Sam was by her side and held her hand, she had no one now her dad was busy at work her grandparents lived far away all she had was Sam.

It was then at the age of eight she started comfort eating, every time she ate a cake she thought of her mother. Every time she secretly bought that chocolate that she ate in the middle of the night she felt comforted having no lady or mother to guide her eating habits, yet the one constant figure who never left her side was Sam.One day as she was 14 years old and walking home from school a group of boys started teasing her about her weight, Sam ran and fought them off but by now she was fourteen years old and size fourteen. Next year was prom and she had recently been dreaming of kissing Sam on her prom night. She took out her full length mirror and for the first time as a teenager she saw her blossoming body and excess weight and decided she will lose this weight firstly for herself and then to be the most beautiful prom queen for Sam.

Sam who was 15 years old had grown to be a very handsome young man, his freckles had vanished, he was tall and very handsome, Joan had seen the other girls approaching him and felt a tang of jealousy pulling at her heart strings. She hugged the pillow and cried saying Sam over and over again. She had now set her heart at being prom queen and having Sam kiss her for the first time that set tingles on her back, she started exercising and stopped eating Chocolates and even her father said she was looking pretty, she saved her money and bought the most beautiful blue dress, her hair was stubborn she had it in a short bob and one strand kept falling over her eyes then there was a doorbell and there was Sam looking very gorgeous and for the first time in his life Sam was speechless this beautiful dark haired beauty, the girl he loved all his life was looking so gorgeous and was his, he kissed her on the porch she was fifteen and he sixteen and he said if I was a little older we could get married and both knew then and there they had found their soul mate.

The prom was a success and Sam and Joan were the most outstanding couple everyone saw how gorgeous Joan was and Sam had eyes only for Joan as Joan for Sam that night after the prom Joan and Sam spoke for a long time as they kissed some more knowing that once Sam was 18 years old they will marry as they kissed the stubborn strand of hair came over Joan’s forehead over her nose as Sam sweetly pushed her hair back as they kissed each other on the porch of Joan’s home., her father was waiting up for her he took one look at her and there was a lump in throat his baby had grown up and looked so much like the way his wife used to look he could not contain himself and hugged Joe and said I see Prince Charming has swept my daughter of her feet, Joe laughed and said Oh Dad.

My dear readers beauty is skin deep but character is heart deep and if you have both, you are a priceless treasure, look after your body and your heart for in doing that you are becoming a destination in life for someone special who will love you not just for your beauty but your integrity as well.Image

A Different View To Weightloss

Hi there dear darlings, fellow dieters, and lovely friends. This Week has had it’s good points and some bad points as well. The good points being I am now 71kgs and bad points I have had a bad flu and sore throat. But darlings look on the brighter side, if you are sick today, but I believe I will be well tomorrow, you may say don’t make such assumptions aunty,

Let me tell you a little secret when I was 4 years old I got severe allergic bronchitis asthma, it was that bad the Doctor’s told my parents I will die but God by His grace and favour saved me and healed me.

When I was older in my twenty’s I got depression, my life had crumbled the dreams of getting married or even having a job seemed impossible but let me tell you darling my Lord God in his favour and mercy let me get a great job or a few jobs, then when I was ready for marriage God brought my husband in my late twenty’s into my life and even though he knew about my depression This man of God accepted to marry me. Now that is what our Lord God does for His children.

I am now healed and well, cook, clean , do the laundry, dance ( when no ones watching) sing my heart out when my daughter goes to school and write when my daughter goes to bed, this is where my awesome Lord has kept me for this moment in time, Christmas is coming planning outfits for my daughter and planning Christmas presents for the family is exciting.

I thank God for what I have and I also thank my Lord for helping me lose weight, I am just a quiet ( most of the time) ordinary housewife placed in this great cosmic universe on planet earth, in  the country  of United Kingdom in Northern Ireland in County Armagh In city Lurgan, I am just a teeny weeny speck on the map, yes I do like cooking, singing and writing but above all I am thankful To the Lord God Almighty for giving me the privilege of knowing Him and giving me a wonderful family, all I can say is Thank you Lord if you can use nothing to write something, you can use me. “ Here Am I Lord Send Me “( The Bible)Image

My Weight loss Journey

Hi there dear friends, it is me the Indian Aunty again on a Mission, you may ask me what mission aunty, the mission my dear munchkins is to be a size 10 again about 50- 55 kgs by Christmas day.

This is the best gift I can give myself, I have a personal trainer and my husband who has lost a lot of weight is also encouraging me on this weightloss journey.

I am now 73kgs and I love cooking and when you love cooking it is easy to indulge in the labours of your hard work in the kitchen.

But the time has come to become that coveted yummy mummy, as I go to leave my daughter in school I see other mums with more children looking like Victoria Secret Models, I label it to good genes but darlings it is more self discipline.

I ask why God why do I have to be on the rounder side ? He the Almighty answers in a deep base voice “darling how many times did you go around the kitchen and open the fridge door and how many comfort foods of tea and toast with marmalade have you had? why child why ? Now child practise discipline “

To tell you the truth munchkins I do not like exercise but my trainer does not push me above the limit. My husband and I when we work out together at the gym has started me on lifting weights but we women have to suffer for beauty be it braces for my teeth as I had in my teenage years, to high heel shoes and now the gym, I would have loved to get a tummy tuck and liposuction but  as a struggling musician and author that can only be a dream.

I am not proud of my 73kg weight nor my size 14 clothes, but through hard work, determination and dedication this can be achieved. I have my personal trainer for 8 weeks and  I hope to at least drop two dress sizes by then. My Birthday is coming up on November so hopefully I will be a size12 by then.

Why is there so much hype on money, looks, cars and homes, that is the way the world measures success but I believe to be a successful individual you must have peace of mind, self discipline, love and security.

“You have to make you proud “and making you proud of who you are and what you have achieved you hence become a strong individual, no one can walk on this road called life for you, you have made a choices some right, some wrong but you have to live with the choices you have made. It is never too late, there is hope,  pray you make the right choices.

I may not have much materially but I have a wonderful husband and a gorgeous daughter and all the choices I make revolves around them, So make the right choice get on that treadmill “you be proud of you” and being comfortable with who you are, you send positivity to people around you. You are beautiful, You are precious, God has a wonderful plan for your life

Let Go Of The Hat

Hi there dear sweet muchkins, sweetypies, darlings how have you been ? Well this week I have been busy with my weightloss countdown. Been cooking healthy options and trying my best not to indulge in chocolate and cookies.

Weightloss is a journey that some individuals have to travel through. There are a lucky few that how they eat does not alter their physique but generous portions for the other half  lead to generous proportions of the latter half.

There was once an old lady whose skirt was flying high up in the wind but she did not let go of the hat that she was holding on to with both hands so a young man wanting to help her said “ mam your skirt is flying high up please pull your skirt down” To which she angrily replied mister  what you see is 80 years old but I only bought this hat yesterday”. 🙂

Dear ones let go of the hat what ever your worldly processions they are important but it is more important to to attend to the more obvious. It is time to let go of the hat and listen to sound advice. This advice can come through reading a self- help book, reading the Bible, or just listening to our spouse’s words, or mentor’s words. Some friends advice is genuine but there are others who can lead you astray or are jealous pray for wisdom to listen to what is sound and good for your journey on earth.

Choose your friends wisely and listen to the advice of your parents or loved ones who care about you. If a friend says sniff this drugs it is great Do not do it, you know it is wrong and it leads to death. Listen to inner  voice God usually speaks to us in this voice and if something seems not right you might just be right it is not right.

There are several factors that help us make choices when we are old enough to make decisions. It can be society, your family, your friends, your bosses, your colleagues but at the end of the day the choice is up to you.

Money is important but your loved ones, your spouse, your children are more important. May be you want to make a secure future for your loved ones it is true but neglecting them is as bad as spending all your earnings instead of saving for the future.

Dear ones it is time to let go of the hat and listen to sound advice or listen to your heart. Your heart will not lie.

Wishing you a happy life from

The Indian Aunty

Weightloss countdown

Hi there dear sweet munchkins, darlings how are you all sweet hearts. Well I the Indian aunty have been doing a little bit of shopping and bought my family a fondue set. So when my sweet 16 birthday approaches  we can have fondue, well not exactly sweet16, but I decided though I am approaching middle age I am still a young girl inside , No I am not going to tell you my exact age yes I have decided to play the guessing game of my age.

Actually I am not depressed of my ageing process a lot like child birth there is always joy at the end and the countdown for my weightloss begins well again this time seriously, there is an Indian sweet called ladu and it is round and it needs an acquired taste but one should try it. Once someone asked me how do you do ? and my brother shouted like a “Ladu” two paise two. I was quite angry with my brother but we all somehow saw the humour of the situation.

I no longer want to be like a ladu so I joined weight watchers a slimming website very popular in the UK and currently 154 pounds my goal is to be around 130ish pounds so darlings the countdown begins. I have read inspirational stories about how people who have lost weight and hope to be size10 by my birthday.

There was once an Indian guy who went for an interview in  a call centre so the manager asked him to make a sentence using the colours green, pink and yellow so the Indian guy thought for a long time and said “the phone went “green green”, ‘I pink  it up and said yellow “

So hope you all make some happy memories with near and dear ones life is too short to be unhappy and grumpy. So have the sunshine smile or sing in the rain if it is raining. Choose life, love life and love those around you, don’t bite the hand that feeds.

Lots of love and hugs

From fondue aunty

Hi there dear, dear friends, munchkins, sweetypies how are you all doing ? Well I the Indian aunty went on a short holiday for a week and now I am 155 pounds.

But as they say there is always a silver lining after every dark cloud I have joined the gym and hopefully I can get back on track of my weight loss and be 8 stone by November.

Today as I went walking outside in the crisp cool air of Northern Ireland I saw so many fields of grass and healthy cows and I thought the poor scrawny cows of India how much they would enjoy this grass and moo a prayer of gratitude to their creator and not only cows but also the sheep. Holy Cow I am now turning into an animal activist.

Animals bring so much of joy to their owners when I was growing up in India we had a dog named RollyPolly and he was such an awesome dog and brought so much of joy in our lives I still miss him.

I now have a cat named Washington he is a wonderful cat that brings so much of laughter and love into our home. He has gone missing twice but always managed to make his way back home.

We love Washington and thank God for him he is like a family member. We once had a prayer meeting for our friends dog who died we sang two hymns including “Abide with me” where the owner put a rose on her dog’s grave which was in her garden. Then we prayed and gave the owner who was my English teacher , a word of encouragement and all I could say was you will see him in heaven.

I do not know if my theology was correct but I know dogs and cats will have a home in heaven.

So let us not just worry about ourselves but also help the animals that God has created.

So on the behalf of the woof, woofs, meaw, meaws, and moo moo’s

Holy Cow

It’s the Indian aunty the self made animal activist

Bye, bye sweetypies , munchkins and friends

There is no sincerer love than the love of food. George Bernard Shaw

Hi there dear friends, it is me the Indian Aunty again. How are all of you sweetypies doing. Well I the Indian aunty am officially a size 12 now and my Irish beau who is my husband took me shopping.

I no longer wobbled but I walked but my dear sweetypies I want to drop 2 more dress sizes. So that graceful brown swan will emerge .

Love in human relationships is conditional but God’s love is unconditional. The natural human tendency is you scratch my back and I scratch yours. This is nice with your beau in a private Jacuzzi but coming back to my point love is almost always conditional but a mother’s love is unconditional .

When I gave birth to my beautiful daughter I felt such a rush of overwhelming  love to this beautiful helpless human being.  In my eyes she could do no wrong  and she was and is perfect. I decided when I got married I will love my husband unconditionally because for me I personally feel conditional love is not true love.

I learnt at a young age about God’s unconditional love for us and we are not Gods but children of an omnipotent or all powerful, omniscient or all knowing  God. This wonderful God who forgives all our sins no matter what we do because of His great love died for us on the cross so that we do not need to die to our sins if we ask Him to forgive our sins and come into our hearts.

I remember a time when I took part in a big singing competition my father Rev Canon Rajkumar Sathyaraj came up to me and said “ if you win or lose remember I love you and am proud of you” I came second in that competition but because of my father’s words I felt like I was on top of the world that day.

Our Lord Jesus Christ loves you if you are good or bad, if you  drink or have addictions he can set you free. He loves you unconditionally and we must learn to love others unconditionally which includes our spouses, children or even friends. No one is perfect and life is not a bed of roses and there are thorns and those thorns can include bad people but just write on a piece of  paper their names and then say it out aloud I forgive you and either tear that paper or burn that paper up and just see your life will be free of worry.

Hakuna Mattata  the Lion King song says no more worries give God your worries and watch Him take control by the way Hakuna Mattata is a good song to sing on holidays but we have to live in a imperfect world after the fall of Adam and Eve but let us make the most of our lives and happy Hakuna Mattata and unconditional love.

Peace , Love , Joy and Happiness to you all

Love  from the Indian Aunty who is officially a size 12 UK

Civilization as it is known today could not have evolved, nor can it survive, without an adequate food supply. Norman Borlaug

Hi friends this is Indian Aunty again I was overwhelmed by the words of Dr Borlaug how could man have survived on planet earth if there was no food.

The sustenance of the very fiber of human life on this planet is the ability to produce food to be consumed by the peoples.

From the dawn of civilization on planet earth .Man had one thought on earth the production and consumption of food for survival. If we look at Biblical history in the book of Genesis. Adam and Eve’s sons Cain and Abel both worked on the production of food for consumption of their families. Cain was a farmer and Abel a Shepard.

Food has evolved over time from the time man found the use of fire to cook food and the use of spices from the exotic places of belly dancers like the Middle East and the land of temples and graceful exotic silks and temples and beautiful dancers such as India. The preparation and consumption of food has evolved.

From the discovery of tea in India and coffee to the scientists who took farming in the developed  world to another level by using their scientific methods to form hybrid varieties of food more maximum amount of taste , texture and variety.

In the sub-continent of India of where I the  Indian aunty is from we have many kinds of soil for agriculture the most productive soil is the alluvial soil for agriculture this soil is very rich in minerals and very productive for plant growth. The alluvial soil is the volcanic debris that the volcano left and these debris are very rich in minerals and vitamins and the best soil for agriculture.

In the 21st century the scientists have found various methods of making the soils more agricultural. In the Middle East now the arid lands are producing food thanks to modern irrigation systems and ways of making the soil fertile.

“I am but one member of a vast team made up of many organizations, officials, thousands of scientists, and millions of farmers – mostly small and humble – who for many years have been fighting a quiet, oftentimes losing war on the food production front.”

Norman Borlaug

Dr Borlaug continues to tell us how the farmers in the developing world have to fight red tapism in order to grow their produce. In India many farmers do not have modern technology such as tractors and they depend on the monsoons for their produce of crops and now due to global warming these monsoons are unpredictable and these farmers do not have modern irrigation systems.

I believe that the governments of developing countries must help these farmers so that food production will increase and making the prices of food accessible for those in the poverty line so that there will be food for those who are earning much less than the average man.

In the 21st century where science and technology have developed so much where developed countries are setting up multi-national companies in developing countries such as India I read recently that IKEA is spending millions of dollars to open it’s shops in India. This will provide employment as well as help the Indian economy.

Now coming back to the small farmers whose livelihood is the growth of food on their soil many of these farmers are in debt and many starve even though they grow food we should help these farmers through paying for their irrigation methods and providing hybrid seeds.

My father’s younger brother Ranjit and his wife Suzy are farmers and one profound point which my uncle said in an interview was the land does not belong to us we belong to the land. If we look at this spiritually or philosophically from the time of Genesis. Creator  God created man and woman from soil and let them live in the garden of Eden. Man and Woman belonged in the garden of Eden and had to abide by the rules of the garden of Eden. The garden of Eden did not belong to them they belonged to the garden of Eden.

Now let us look at this politically every country has boundaries and people of that particular country belong within those boundaries and people within that country abide by the rules and regulations put forth by the government of that particular country. The land does not belong to them they belong to that land.

Now let us look at this sociologically the smallest social unit is the family and this family live in a home and people in that home abide by the rules and regulations of that particular home. The land does not belong to the family members they belong to that land and as generation goes by everyone belonging to that land sets up rules and regulations.

Now when we leave this earth our bodies go back to the very beginning of where we were formed back to the land. I have put up an interview of my dad’s younger brother Ranjit who is extremely intelligent and wise and I would like you to listen to this interview of farming. I believe that one day there will be food for all human beings on this planet earth especially those of the under developed and developing countries in this centaury of science and technology man should never go hungry.

“Food is the moral right of all who are born into this world.”

Norman Borlaug

Where there is a will there is a way!

Dear friends hi it is me the Indian aunty again can you believe this Indian aunty walked in summer shorts and a cool t-shirt yesterday. I just can’t believe it myself but darlings this Indian aunty is going through a metamorphic change. I wore a size 12 blouse today and it fit. I am now 157 pounds and just can’t wait to be a size 8.

You know in life there are ups and downs and good days and bad days and sometimes we also fall but we can get up shake ourselves and say yes I can do it. I can overcome alcohol if it is an addiction, I can overcome food addiction I can overcome. I use my faith in God to help me overcome and ask for forgiveness if I fall and the Lord Jesus remembers our sins or addictions no more.

We must be strong and no man is perfect we all fall but God gives us a hand to rise up again. The Lord Jesus lifts us up wipes away our bruises and says yes you can do it you can lose that addiction, you can go back to work instead of living on welfare.Even if no one believes in you God does and that is why you are on earth. Jer 29:8 For I know the plans I have for you plans for good and not for evil plans to give you a future and a hope.

God has good plans for you do not be upset you can have a bright prosperous and wonderful future ahead no matter who has wronged you, mocked you or called you names you still have breath in you and that is because he has a wonderful plan for your life forgive and forget and watch HIM take control of your life and bless you.

John 3 :16 says For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that who so ever believes in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life.

Yes friends we can have a wonderful life in Him if you can call out to him and ask him into your life you can be free of addiction and strongholds over your life let us now live in victory IN HIM and FOR HIM.
