Weightloss countdown

Hi there dear sweet munchkins, darlings how are you all sweet hearts. Well I the Indian aunty have been doing a little bit of shopping and bought my family a fondue set. So when my sweet 16 birthday approaches  we can have fondue, well not exactly sweet16, but I decided though I am approaching middle age I am still a young girl inside , No I am not going to tell you my exact age yes I have decided to play the guessing game of my age.

Actually I am not depressed of my ageing process a lot like child birth there is always joy at the end and the countdown for my weightloss begins well again this time seriously, there is an Indian sweet called ladu and it is round and it needs an acquired taste but one should try it. Once someone asked me how do you do ? and my brother shouted like a “Ladu” two paise two. I was quite angry with my brother but we all somehow saw the humour of the situation.

I no longer want to be like a ladu so I joined weight watchers a slimming website very popular in the UK and currently 154 pounds my goal is to be around 130ish pounds so darlings the countdown begins. I have read inspirational stories about how people who have lost weight and hope to be size10 by my birthday.

There was once an Indian guy who went for an interview in  a call centre so the manager asked him to make a sentence using the colours green, pink and yellow so the Indian guy thought for a long time and said “the phone went “green green”, ‘I pink  it up and said yellow “

So hope you all make some happy memories with near and dear ones life is too short to be unhappy and grumpy. So have the sunshine smile or sing in the rain if it is raining. Choose life, love life and love those around you, don’t bite the hand that feeds.

Lots of love and hugs

The History Of Anicent India

Hi there dear cho cho chweet darlings, how are you  dear honey buns ? Well I the Indian aunty have been reading about my language Tamil. The Indus valley civilization which is also called the Harappan civilazation and which is Mohanjodaro now  in Pakistan. Is an ancient civilization these people were most probably Dravidians the original inhabitants of India. Such as the red Indians of America and the aborigines  of Australia.

The Indus valley people can be dated to 2000 BC. These people loved art and architecture and dance as we can see the figurine of the dancing girl made of metal. The homes in this civilization had drainage and sewage systems and they built highly sophisticated housing for such an early time of history. They also had a great bath which can noted as the modern day spa.

I believe this civilization is as remarkable as the Egyptian civilization. These ancient people also did agriculture. Somehow all they left for us to remember them by was their remarkable housing.

What happened to these remarkable sophisticated people they suddenly vanished from the Indus valley if you are an sci fi fan you can say alien ship took them away. Or there must have been a tidal wave or volcano that killed these people or most probably what most historians believe these people were driven to southern India by the Aryans most probably Tamil Nadu where they settled down. The  Aryans then were the first  set of people who came to India and they brought with them the rig veda  the original script  which is the basis of Hinduism.

But what baffle’s me  is what happened to these people of the Indus valley I believe they intermarried with the Aryans and that is why the Brahmins most of them are very light skinned and highly intelligent a product of inter- breeding and some of them even have green eyes a product of Arayan ancestry

Then came the other cultures to India the Middle Eastern, the Syrians to Kerala, and ofcourse the British all these cultures make beautiful cosmopolitan India. Someone said if you see the colours of the people in India it is like looking at the rainbow from the beautiful dusky complexioned to the gorgeous milky complexioned with green eyes we are all Indian.

So my dear cho cho cweet honey buns that is the end of my history lesson for today. So Nandre or thank you for checking out my blog

Good bye from the Indian history teacher aunty

Money, Karma and Women

My dearest sweet munchkins how are you? How are you darlings ? Well today I am going to write to the women with some girlie banter I do not want any of you get offended with my girlie banter but here it goes ………

One day a pastor went to shop for a bra for his wife so he went into this Christian bra store and the lady said sir “ we have a catholic bra that holds the masses, the brethren bra that uplifts the fallen and above all we have the Pentecostal bra that makes mountains out of molehills “ So the pastor said give me the Pentecostal bra for my wife and went away smiling………

Dear friends, sometimes  life is like a bra  you can stretch your personality ,savings, friendships, your spouse to the limit but at the end it bounces back to its originality and to your real self.

Lets talk about money for a change we save, we earn, we spend, we learn. Money can be stretched to the limit but it always bounces back till we get our next pay check. Money should be respected and people with money are respected it is not the most important thing in the world but lets face the facts it is very important.

I do not like talking about money and did not know its importance but I learnt from my family that we should give into our church and God’s ministers. By giving we are being blessed. When we give money call it blessing, karma or fate the blessings come back at us.

I remember when I was working in Microsoft in India I gave into my church, an orphanage and to God’s minter and the next months I got better salary because I believe I pleased God by giving.

I do not think you have to give all your money away but keep one tenth of your money for God. It can also go into a worthy cause like an orphanage or needy relative. God will bless you for that. Learn to give and learn to receive.

I had a problem of learning to receive money as I thought there were more needy people than me but I am still learning to receive things except flowers and  dark chocolates which I love but there are people who must learn to be gracious enough in learning to receive and learning to give they both go hand in hand.

If you feel you can not give money give your time just learn to love people some people have gone through hard times and it makes their heart hard but one day tell God why you are angry  forgive that person and ask Jesus to fill your heart with love for other people and he will fill your heart with love.

By giving a hug to the elderly, or cooking something for a friend or sending money for a worthy project will do wonders for your finance and life and what goes around comes around give out love and what ever you feel you can do or give and watch God bless you.

So from the Christian finance inspector

Be Whoem You Were Born To Be

Hi there friends, Did you know everyone has talents some obvious and some not so obvious some need to be nurtured and developed and some just are there but everyone has something  which makes them distinct from the rest of the world.

No one else in this world has the same DNA as another individual. Even twins have different DNA.

You are unique, you a special, you are beautiful, you are well you are you. No one else is you. You may say I am not rich as my other family members, I am not as pretty as my friends but let me tell you God chose you to be in  this world, in this exciting year of 2012 . You may be a teenager or a pensioner but live life to your best potential now. Never say never or better late than never.

I love the movie Patch Adams. Patch had a dream and a vision to build the best children’s hospital in the world where children can just be children and have fun even when they were not well these children were not treated different from the other children they  had fun in hospital thanks to Patch Adams love for excessive enthusiasm for the sick children.

When Joni Ereckson Tada lost the use of her limbs she was angry with God but then now through her speaking and drawing with her paint brush in her mouth she is an inspiration to thousands of people. When we look at the Para Olympics  these people with out the healthy bodies yet they make history in this world with what they have how much so should we be thankful for what we have and who we are. We grumble over a few pounds of weight gain how much more thankful should you and I be with what we have.

Get inspiration from people who are taking part in para Olympics who are taking a stand in this world. We can not all be history makers but we can make a difference in peoples lives by  praying for  the sick, taking a homeless man for a meal, helping a blind person cross the road, helping out in some way or other.

We are living selfish lives , my home, my husband or wife and children Lord bless us four and no more. No that is not the way to pray or join the Bless Me club admission free expectation is much more.

Shame on us for being selfish we have to rise up and help out in this world if you can not go  where help is needed pray for those people , help in the church and community and be a blessing in society.

Time to leave comfort zone and go the valley of the earth where we are needed and where Jesus spent his 33 years with people all sorts of people but Christ touched their lives how much more so should we touch other people’s lives so that they change for the better

From Mountain Top To The Valley

Grace

My dearest sweet sweet hearts, my munchkins, darlings, how have you all been ? Did you know the Wright brothers invented the aeroplane and now travelling is so much easier and faster due that awesome invention.

Someone once said the world is like a ping pong ball. It is all connected by airwaves, satellites, radars, and telephone waves. So is an individual’s life it is all connected by family, society, peers peers, land, culture and countries.

When I see myself in this vast contour of land in a country I am an little individual  among a mass of individuals. I strive to be honest to my beliefs, my God and my family. Obey the laws of my country, my society and my family.

But is abiding by the laws the only thing that makes us good. Who is good ? Jesus was good. Mother Theresa was good but there is a little evil in every one. You may say No way I am good but look within yourself  are you really truly good.

There is a story in the Bible where a woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus for judgement and the Lord said whoever has never sinned can throw the stone at her because  in those days the people punished the “women” caught in adultery by stoning them and there was no one who was left standing before our God for they were all convicted of their sin and Jesus forgave that Lady and said “ go and sin no more”

Forgiveness is strength and grace if we do not forgive others how will our Lord forgive us our sins. Learn to forgive and let go so that we can be graceful, loving individuals in our society, community and country.

My grandmother’s name is Grace and she is a wonderful strong individual. I remember one time my brother was asked to say  grace at a family meal and he shouted “Grace” amen. The meaning of God’s grace is His forgiveness instead of judgement for our sins. The abiding of law is good in the bible but that is not what makes us good it is our communion and fellowship with our God that brings us from glory to glory from grace to grace.

Man fell at the very beginning of time and man has that fallen nature in Him but God  Christ died for this fallen man and  now man can by faith through Christ approach our God in peace without rituals, penance or sacrifices of animals.

It is the grace of God you that you and I can live as children of God .

So I believe as Jesus said “ give to Ceaser what belongs to Him and give to God what belongs to Him so we have to abide by the country’s laws but at the same time if we slip and fall into sin remember God has this big gold shower of grace to wash us clean.

So from forgiveness to grace , from glory to glory the Indian aunty

Metamorphoses

Hi there dearest sweet munchkins, how are you my sweet, sweet friends hope you are doing well ? Life is like a game of cards you can gamble with life and come out with Aces but whatever card you choose to play remember there are others playing the game as well.

How do we strategize our next move if you are playing poker, solatire, or just fun games as snap remember it is You who govern your destiny. God has a plan but you have the choice so choose your card well.

Your destiny lies in your hands sometimes society tries to govern us and keep us defeated but the Phoenix rose from the fiery ashes people thought they had destroyed the bird but that was when it rose in all it’s glory.

The butterfly was a worm which slept in a cocoon for a long time but one day metamorphous took place and out emerged this beautiful creature. My dear ones you may have fallen, or working too hard on your job or are just looking for your job or are just waiting for that promotion remember your time to shine will arise.

God has a plan do not fight Him. He is unbeatable do not run from Him as you may end up in the waters but let Him guide you and you will be more prosperous, happier and more contented it does not mean sell all you have and go to Timbuktu  as a missionary no listen to your heart , your intuition and God will open that door for you and me.

The days of slogging on the mission field is not as necessary as it used to be we now have media and technology, cell phones and Google the whole world is connected by television and iPhones’ and BlackBerrys.

What we need is to tell the next generation of our God and instill in them values of our Faith in God. Dear ones do not just live in the present think about the future for our children and may be arise to a better, brighter and more lovelier tomorrow.

From the Indian Aunty  saying” There is Hope for a Better Tomorrow”

Impossible Dream

Dearest sweet munchkins , hi how are you all today ? Well darlings this week has been a revelation for me. Yes darlings the light has dawned, the sun has risen on my confused mind, the fuse of the light bulb in my mind has started working and yes I know as I know, as I know, as I know as that the world is connected by media and words and technology  that one thing going around the world is the gospel and Jesus is Lord.

I have suffered from depression for some time.I am small in stature 5 feet 3 inches, am Indian, a wife and a mother we do not have much materially but I am contented though there  are  a few things I would really love for my family, I may get these things in this life or I may not but seeing my daughter’s face every morning makes life worthwhile.

I do not wish this depression on anyone as at times it has been too hard to bear but God has been with me and helped me choose Life over death. So let us live life to the fullest Darwin wrote about survival of the fittest but I believe to be fit you have to be mentally strong so I would say not the physically fit but the mentally fit have a better advantage of this world.

So let us have a strong forehead and soft heart to live in this world.

Lots of love n prayers the Indian Aunty

Summer Holidays

Hi there dear sweetypies, my cho cho chweet friends it is time for summer holidays. I always remember the holidays I had in India as a child I was born in Bangalore and we went to a neighbouring city called Mysore from there we went to Ooty a hill station we had fun times in those nostalgic carefree happy times as children.

Ooty called little England because of it’s cool climate was wonderful. The Ooty rose garden and the lake where we went rowing was so much fun. Times have changed, the quiet peaceful world where I grew up in Bangalore has changed to a cosmopolitan, busy business centre more like the Hongkong of China, like the London of UK.

Change for the positive as well as the negative. The simple Indian life of Dhoti and Juba ( that is traditional attire for men ) and the traditional Sari and Salwar ( traditional attire for women) has changed to Jeans designer t-shirts and short skirts, boots, short blouses how can an rural India change to such Urban life because the world is changing from cell phones, to television, to fashion, to movies we can not get the past back ,but those memories will always be in our hearts and minds.

Now it is time for me and my brood to go for holidays so you my dear munchkins will hear from me only the week after next but I want you all to know how much I appreciate your comments and likes and hope all of you have a happy week.

If change can make a person wiser, healthier and  nicer then that change must be sought after and that is the change I am seeking in these holidays. It is not wise to relive your childhood in adult stage but being like children in doing things like running on the beach with your loved ones, running in the rain or splashing around on the beach and having fun can do wonders for stress.

So fret not, worry not, stress not take a deep breathes clear your mind and think on happy thoughts and may you have a happier, healthier, fun filled week as well.

Lots of love, hugs, and happiness

The Indian aunty going on holidays

O Captain! My Captain!

O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done;
The ship has weathered every rock,the prize we sought is won;
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring: Walt Whitman,

Hi there dear munchkins, my darlings, my chocho chweet friends, How are you all doing? Today I am going to talk about Life, Karma or Fate who navigates our life ? Is it some supreme force of the universe called God or is it your parents, friends, loved ones ?

Dear friends they all have a role to play in your life but the choice is up to you. Sometimes man makes right choices, wrong choices, hard choices but dear one “You” ultimately make the choice good or bad.

Sometimes the environment we live in makes choices and the freedom of choice is taken from us but do you know there will come a time when we can overcome the environment or society and make our move to a better future for ourselves.

We are like players in a game of chess with Divine intervening with the society as we should strategize our intelligent next move. Let me tell you dear munchkins if we carefully planned and strategized our life we would not be or could be where we are now.

He who fails to plan, plans to fail. I never in this world planed anything in my life. I am quite childish in my approach to life I have no enemies, love my fellow human beings and like to go on skipping in the sunshine collecting daises and flowers and everything is wonderful in this bubble of life I have built but I know life is not about butterflies and daises and roses there are hard times in life and I have been through them but I do not want to think about it.

Life is better if we let God plan our life and seek heavenly guidance before any major decision or choice I have learnt to plan small things in my life now like picnics but what I learnt so far is let God do the planning and we walk in His plans.

Let us pray:-

Dear God you plan my life from now on make my mess of a life into a message for the world so that I walk in God’s plan.

Live life to the fullest with God being your Captain.

Lots of love and from the Indian Aunty

Love will it still be there after 25 years of marriage

Dear munchkins, my darling friends will we be in love after 25years, Lets go through different stages of love, firstly is idolising your daddy or mummy they are perfect parents. I always thought my father was the handsomest man in the world till I got a crush on Amir Khan who is a famous actor. It was infatuation and a crush. Every one male or female have a crush or puppy love for some one at their early teen age years.

Then you get your boyfriends and girlfriends late teenage years and more crushes and infatuations till you meet the one and then in early marriage you have passed from friendship stage to lover’s stage better a little said about this topic as you can read various books about it but this is a wonderful, stage from getting to know each other physically , emotionally  and psychologically .

Then it becomes Mother and Father phase where your children become more important than the spouse and the lover mode goes to the pressure cooker mode and if you are a woman cooking, cleaning, doing errands that pressure cooker is gona whistle quite loudly sometimes but let me tell you mothers take some me time, read books, make some herbal tea and relax after the kids have gone to sleep.

Then comes middle age the weight piles on our children are teenagers and we try to get them to good colleges and they want to travel or work or want to be models or dancers not quite what we had in mind for our little ones but this is the time we come up a few promotions on our jobs and it helps fund your children’s dreams.

Then your children find boyfriends or girlfriends and want to get married that is when the savings account comes in helpful. Then before you know it you are grand parents and now your relationship with your spouse is companionship and fun from playing golf to babysitting life can not be more peaceful .

Through all these phases remember to ask do you love me darling and I tell you I know none knows you better than your partner and the answer is yes I Do, from the walk down that isle till the end I love you

Love from the Indian Aunty
